JOHN YUREK, 54, of Fort Wayne, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, in Kokomo. Born Jan. 23, 1952, in Hammond, IN., he was the son of John and Lucy (DeWitt) Yurek. He was a Fleet Manager Employee of Premier Manufacturing at the Delphi Plant, Kokomo. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church. "he was a devoted father who loved his family and friends. He took pride in his work and being an active member of the Boy Scout's organization." Survived by his wife, Gretchen Yurek of Fort Wayne; son, John of Fort Wayne; daughters, Marie, Natalie, and Noelle, all of Fort Wayne; mother, Lucy Yurek of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; brothers, James (Joy) Yurek of Plano, Texas and George (Patricia) Yurek of Munster, IN.; sister, Lucy (Robert) Koszyk of Lansing, Mich.; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Ruth Rittermeyer of Kendallville; brothers-in-law, Robert Rittermeyer of Laotto and Adam (Dani) Rittermeyer of Wolcottville; and nine nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John Yurek; and a granddaughter. Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church, 7215 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior to Mass. Father Mark Gurtner officiating. Calling is also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with Vigil service at 3:30p.m. Tuesday. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to Anthony Wayne Council of Boy Scouts or the American Heart Association.
