Jaboticabal is a municipality in the state of São Paulo in Brazil whose name comes from the Tupi language. The name is derived from the tree with the name Jabuticaba. Jaboticabal is home to a campus of the UNESP university, and Jaboticabal is the city that most produced peanuts in Brazil. Around the city there are extensive sugar cane plantations and industries making of Jaboticabal one of the most important cities in agrobusiness of Brazil. The musical comedy act Tripod has written a song about Jaboticabal, by the same name.
