Ed Miller was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
As a small boy he moved with his family to the Chicago, Illinios area.
Some years later the family moved to Iowa, near Lakota.
He was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Lakota.
At the age of 15, he began working for area farmers amd around farms in the Elmore, Minnesota area.
After a few years he met Ella Zierke, they were married and farmed between Buffalo Center and Lakota for many years.
Ella was born in a sod house on the prairies near Ipswick, South Dakota.
As a young girl of 15, she moved to a farm along the Minnesota-Iowa border which her father had purchased.
They were parents of five daughters;
Lenora married Ernest Trasmar
Esther and Sadie married brothers, George and Joe Johnson
Luella married Robert Siemens Jr.
Dorothy married Willard Dearing
In 1936 they purchased an acreage south of Lakota and moved there in 1937. Luella and Dorothy were still at home at this time.
Years later they sold the acerage and moved to Minnesota. Then they bought the property back and retired on it.
Ed and Ella, a daughter , and a granddaughter are buried in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Luella married Robert Siemens, Jr.; they farmed near Lakota all their life.
Dorothy married Willard Dearing; they farmed in the Buffalo Center area, then moved into Buffalo Center when they retired. They have two daughters and one son.
In 1936 Ed and Ella purchased an acreage south of Lakota and moved there in 1937. Luella and Dorothy were still at home at that time. Years later they sold the acreage and moved to Minnesota. Eventually, Luella and Robert Siemens purchased that same acreage to retire on.
Ed and Ella Miller, a daughter, and granddaughter are buried in Maple Hill Cemetery east of town."
