Mrs. Floyd E. Horton

Mrs. Floyd E. Horton died on March 3, 1967 in Community Hospital in Broken Bow, Nebraska after several weeks of illness. nee Jennie Margaret Land, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Land, she was born at Troy, Illinois on September 28, 1899. On July 20, 1918 she was united in marriage to Floyd E. Horton at Merna, Nebraska. They made their home in Custer County, Nebraska except for a few years which they spent in Denver, Colorado. To this union were born three boys and fivegirls.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and by 3 daughters, one brother and two sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Franssen of Denver, Colorado and Grace Rolfsmeyer of Litchfield, Colorado, also by threesons, Lloyd, Richard and Dillard Horton of Denver, Colorado, also by one brother, Charles Land of Broken Bow, Nebraska, and by three sisters, Mrs. Julia Peace in Broken Bow, Nebraska, Mrs. Ann Bivens of Minden, Nebraska and Mrs. MarthaLowe of Denver, Colorado, and also by 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews and hosts of friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a friend who was always ready to lend a helpinghand.

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Horton Monday morning, March 6, 1967 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Broken Bow, Nebraska, with Rev. Father Marcellus Lell officiant. The Pallbearers were Phillip Franssen, RichardSieczkowski, Ernst Franssen, Kirt Foyle, Donald Fletcher, and Emery Peace. Interment was made in the Mount Olivet Cemetery at Denver, Colorado. Mrs. Horton was 67 years of age at her passing.

Horton, Arnold, Nebraska, age 25 years born in South Dakota, he the son of Abraham Horton (wife of Abraham, Mother of Floyd not shown on this record, note), ceremony duly witnessed by Charles Landand Katherine Land..
