Taken from Newspaper article in Utah: Caroline Eschler Evans. She grew up on a ranch in Raymond, Idaho, where she loved the outdoor life - horses, the canyons and Bear Lake. During WWII she learned to fly in the Civil Air Patrol and was a member of the USO. She attended Brigham Young College, Utah State Agricultural College, University of Idaho, University of Utah and Wright State University, receiving a bachelor's degree in education with a teaching minor in English and a master's in physical education. She also competed in women's basketball and track. She taught school in Idaho, Florida and Ohio, English at BYU, physical education at UofU and in later life taught at American Heritage School in Pleasant Grove. She married Paul Yashko and they raised five children together while living in Utah, California, Maryland, Colorado, Washington, Florida, Iowa and Ohio. They were later divorced. Mother loved to meet people and had friends everywhere. She was active in community and church service wherever she lived. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served gladly where needed in the Primary, Sunday School, MIA, Relief Society and Scouting organizations in teaching and leadership callings. She served LDS missions to Boston, Mass.; Jackson, Miss.; and the Chicago LDS Temple. She was an ordinance worker at the Provo and Mt. Timpanogos LDS temples. Energetic, she was always eager to help care for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her enthusiasm, skill to motivate and willingness to give to others all she had. She is survived by four of her children, Nancy (Mike) Strode, Angela (Bill) Roberts, Paula (Craig) Davis and Greg (Cindy) Yashko; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; and her brothers, Edwin and Douglas Evans. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sonya Reid Vancil; sisters, Alice Hart and Edith Shepherd; and brothers, LaGrande and Roscoe Evans.
