LifeSketch: John Ferguson was born in Beith Ayshire, Scotland April 3, 1847 and was married on June 10, 1868 to Jeanie (Jane) Robertson. They came to America the same year and that fall he took land in Dodge County about 10 miles notht of North Bend, Nebraska where they lived until 1891 when he moved to Blaine County. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Dodge County but when he came to Pleasant Valley he united with the Congregational Church of which he was an active member. He died at the home place very suddenly February 13, 1924 having reached the ripe old age of 76 years, 11 months, and 21 days and departing leaves behind him the record of a noble life.
