LifeSketch: The Harvey family originally hailed from Essex, England. When they arrived in America they settled in Chautaqua County, New York. arvey, born in September 1775 in East Haddam, Middlesex County, Connecticut, and Clarissa Gardner Harvey, born 19 April 1777 in Ostego, Chautaqua County, New york.July 1812 in Arkwright, Chautaqua County, New York. Her father, Leonard MARTIN Sessions, was born 26 July 1788. Esther's mother , Artright Summitt, was born on 26 March 1788. Both of Esther's parents were born in Mansfield, Tolland County, Connecticut. eleven children of the Harvey's eleven children were born in New York.ctober 1834. Orren (Orin) , Esther and Harris'a third son, arrived on 1 May 1837. The Harvey's first daughter,and fourth child, Helen, turned up 8 July 1870. Alvin, the couple's fourth son and fifth child, joined the family on 23 March 1842.child born in Chautaqua County.8 April 1846, and 15 May 1849, respectively, in New York.Harvey was the only child born while the family resided n Erie, Pennsylvania.
