Francis Emerson received his land in Pulaski County through his wifes inheritance. When her father died he divided up the land he owned in Wolf Creek. He owned 200 acres and gave his daughter Elisabeth 120 acres of that land. It was signed over to her husband Francis Emerson. Elisabeth's father was John McClelland. The survey was done for and requested by John M. Weddle. He was Elisabeth's brother in law by her sister Polly. Francis Emerson's Land Warrant #24959 which was orginally under the name John McClelland his wifes father. After the patenting process was done Emerson's new Land Warrent # was 22210 and finalized on 19 July 1837. All this information has been verified with the orginal land documents provided to me from thr KY land office from the secretary of state of KY.
