David Ralph Cesari Left this world peacefully on February 8, 2009, to be reunited with his beloved Wilma. Ralph was born on November 2, 1926, to Paul Cesari and Marie Casazza. He was raised in the Mission District with his sisters Ruth and Jean. He attended St. Peter's Grammar School and St. Peter's High School.
After high school, Ralph began his college career at St. Mary's College of Moraga only to enlist in the United States Maritime Service one semester later. He was trained in Southern California and New York and served in the Philippines aboard the USTA Sea Barb as a radioman.
Ralph returned to San Francisco after his discharge and enrolled in USF. Upon graduation from USF he joined the San Francisco Police Dept, Ralph and Wilma were married in 1952.
He continued his career in the SFPD while putting himself through law school and welcoming their first child. He passed the Bar in 1954 and began his career in the law in 1955.
In 1965 Ralph established his own law firm with his best friend Jim Werner. He and Jim welcomed Dennis Moriarty as a partner in 1974.
Ralph was a terrific ally and a formidable foe! He enjoyed a successful law practice until his retirement in 1991. He was an active USF Alumnus and a huge Don backer.
Ralph was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Ralph also enjoyed his membership in the
Olympic Club since 1966.
He was involved in many committees at the Olympic Club. He served on the board of directors including a term as vice president of the board.
Ralph was a man of strong convictions one who was never afraid to share his opinions. Ralph is survived by his sister, Sister Mary Carmela Cesari, Sister of Mercy and his brother-in-law, Richard Paganell. He was the cherished father of five. His grandchildren learned so much from him and they
adored him. Ralph is also survived by his dear friend, Jane Werner and her family. He was preceded in death by Wilma, his loving wife of 52 years and his sister Jean.
