Emma M. Foy, age 100, of McHenry, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 30, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.
Emma was born June 18, 1917, to the late Oscar and Marie (Groglott) Heinrichs. On June 17, 1939, she married the love of her life, Robert, at St. Edith Church, Chicago.
Emma was a devoted and active member of the Holy Apostle Catholic Church.
She prayed the Rosary every day. Her faith guided her through many trials and tribulations.
She served as the past President of the Women's Club.
She was an avid bridge player for many years participating in multiple clubs and was very competitive in the game of Scrabble.
Emma was an excellent cook and baker, a wonderful seamstress, and had the most beautiful garden, especially her roses. Reading was something Emma thoroughly enjoyed, especially reading books by her favourite author, Jan Karon.
She was a diehard Cubs fan, enjoyed watching them all season long and especially enjoyed watching them win the World Series.
Most of all, Emma was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was extremely proud of her family.
Emma is survived by her loving children, Sharon (Paul) Crouch, Tom (Stephanie) Foy, Edward (Maureen) Foy, Cynthia (Gerald) Monroe, and Robert Foy; 18 dear grandchildren; and 24 cherished great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; daughter, Sandra Binsack; and siblings, Theresa Wall, Edward Heinrichs, and Carl Heinrichs.
