Evelyn Turner Snow passed away peacefully on Sept 1, 2014 at a retirement home in Spanish Fork, Utah. She was born on a family farm in Sutherland (near Delta, Utah) on Dec 5, 1916 the 4th of 12 children born to her pioneering parents Reuben and Cora Turner. The large family had no electricity, carried water from a well, and cooked and heated water on a wood-burning stove. It was a close and loving family. They raised sugar beets, milked cows, and ate well from a large garden.
Evelyn married her late husband Spencer Forsyth Snow of St. George, Utah on Apr 15, 1935 and spent the remainder of her life in St. George.
Evelyn helped organize the first Pink Ladies at Dixie Medical Center; she participated in church activities and sang in several choirs. She was known for her abundant love of family, dedicated friendships, and kindness to others. Evelyn had a keen interest in people and regularly wrote cards and letters to her family and many friends; she consistently remembered and acknowledged their birthdays and other special occasions.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward H. (Idonna Eagar) Snow, Gary S. (Janeanne Tippetts) Snow, and Jack T. (Jan Clayson) Snow, 9 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to sincerely thank the Spanish Fork Nursing and Rehab staff for their excellent and loving care for Evelyn during the past 16 months, and they express special thanks to Evelyn's son Jack and his wife Jan for the compassionate care, time and love they provided to Evelyn while she was in Spanish Fork.
