Connell Whiteley.
A pretty wedding was solemnised in
the Meander Baptist Church on March
19, the contracting parties being Hazel
M., only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.
G. Whiteley, "'Valley Falls," Meander
and Archibald J., eldest son of Mr. and
Mrs. J. Connell, Montana. Rev. Mr.
Belot officiated, and Mrs. L. Lee was
organist. The church had been prettily
decorated by friends of the bride with
bells, asparagus fern, white flowers, and
streamers.
The bride, who entered the church
with her father, wore a white crepe satin
dress made on long flowing lines, with
puff sleeves, and finished at the neck
and waist with silver bow and buckle.
The long silk veil was worn capette
fashion, and fastened at the sides with
posies of orange blossom. A bouquet
of white asters, carnations and aspara-
gus ferns finished with white satin
streamers, completed the toilette.
Miss Irene Connell, sister of the
bridegroom, was bridesmaid, and wore
a pale-blue celanese frock, made on long,
close-fitting lines, and finished at the
hem, neck and sleeves with French
pleating. Her picture hat of fine straw
was trimmed with ribbon and flowers to
match, and she carried a posy of blue
hydrangeas, asters and asparagus fern.
Little Cecily Connell, who carried the
hand-painted satin cushion, wore an
ankle-length salmon-pink celanese frock
with hat to match.
Mr. Les. Ritter was best man.
As the party left the church, a white
satin horse-shoe was placed on the
bride's arm by her small nephew, Mas-
ter Geoffrey Whiteley.
Afterwards a reception was held at
the home of the bride's parents, when
about 30 guests were entertained. The
chief feature of the bride's table was
a two-tier wedding cake.
Later Mr. and Mrs. Connell left for
their honeymoon, which is being spent
in Launceston. The bride travelled in
a brown silk marocain dress, with swag-
ger coat and felt hat to match.
The future home of Mr. and Mrs. Con-
nell will he at West Meander.Quelle 3
