Funeral services for Elmer H. Thompson, 66, of 1120 W, 7th St., who died here Sunday, will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, at Odean View Cemetary.
Pastor LaVerne Nelsen will officiate. The Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Thompson was born April 19, 1904, at Joyce, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Thompson. He attended schools there.
Following his schooling, he worked as a logger. He became a boom man for the Port of Port Angeles and later was a crane operator. In all, he was employed by the port for 25 years before he retired. He was married to Myrtle Sparks in Port Angeles April 3, 1926. She survives in Port Angeles.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and in his retirement enjoyed rock hounding and bottle collecting.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge, Aerie No. 483.
Besides the widow, he is survived by a son, Darwin Thompson, Seattle, and four daughters, Bette Oakes and Dixie Leonard, both of Port Angeles, Maxine Wasson, Tacoma, and Jackie Beadle, Chemainus, B.C.
Other Survivors include 11 grandchildren and four brothers, Oscar and Henry Thompson, both of Port Angeles; Charlie Thompson, Seal Rock, Ore., and Victor Thompson, Joyce.
Four sisters, Emily Hoffman, Port Angeles; Jean Nason, Joyce; Marie Burnham, Seattle, and Julie Damon, Sunnydale, Calif.
The active pallbearers will be Ralph Flora, Jay Sander, Fritz Hooker, Russell Bradow, Mick McDougall and Edward McDougall.
Honorary Pallbearers will be John Sloan, Tom Neal, Frank Robinson and Gene McLennan.
The family said memorials may be made to the Cancer Fund.
