Notizen bei Thomas Wigg

Thomas Wigg served as Vestryman of St. Helena's Episcopal Church in Beaufort for twenty-one years (1729-1759). He was a Colonel of the "Southern Regiment in Granville County" in 1756. Earlier, he had served as a volunteer under General James Oglethorpe in the expedition against Florida in 1739. He "also served the colony in civil capacities. He was Searcher for the Customs of Charles Town, a Justice of the Peace, member of the Assembly, and one of the Commissioners to build and repair a pilot boat for the pilots of the harbor of Beaufort."
