I never knew that Christina and Georg had so many children! All my life, I only knew about the five surviving siblings who immigrated. But, finding the baptism and death records showed the many births...and deaths. Born a twin, Helena also had twins.
Members of the Wambach extended family lived in Düsseldorf, and after Christina's death, the older girls were sent by these relatives into service in wealthy homes - Anna worked as a cook, Maggie as a maid. Helen was later sent to be educated by nuns.
Sie ist verheiratet mit Georg Heinrich Schlaadt.
Sie haben geheiratet am 18. Dezember 1860 in Kestert, Sankt Goarshausen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Deutschland, sie war 23 Jahre alt.
Georg is listed in the marriage record as an "Obsthändler"- a fruit merchant. His barge brought fruit down to cities along the Rhein, including Spanish oranges. The date of her first child's baptism would've meant she was 3-4 months pregnant when wed.
