[Brøderbund WFT Vol. 7, Ed. 1, Tree #0812, Date of Import: Nov 25, 1997] !Rosa's death certificate indicated her cause of death was "carcinoma of left breast", a condition she suffered for 3 years. Her husband was the informant of her death & he reported her birth date as 1 Jan 1877. She died at age 51. She was a homemaker. Rosa was buried in Gebo Cemetery. Rosa liked to garden - she loved flowers. She was a good cook. Her granddaughter, Emily Smith Garfield, remembered her as quiet. Rosa never had what could be called a "modern" home. When Rosa died, daughters Emily & Edith went to live with Ben & Hope Smith Thatcher. When the girls got big enough to take care of the house, their father took them home. They sorely missed having a mother.
