SMITHVILLE - Duncan Bus McRae , 83, a native and longtime Fort Worth resident, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Burial: Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials: His memory may be honored with a gift to Polytechnic United Methodist Church, 1310 S. Collard St., Fort Worth, Texas 76105.
Bus McRae was a member of a pioneer Fort Worth family and a retired police officer. D. McRae Elementary School in Polytechnic was named in honor of his great-grandfather. His father was the postmaster in Riverside during his life.
A lifetime member of Polytechnic United Methodist Church, Bus McRae was a 50-year member and past master of Poly Lodge AF & AM, Moslah Temple Shrine and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mr. McRae was preceded in death by his grandson, Duncan Sean McRae .
Survivors: His wife of 63 years, Imogene Quate McRae of Smithville; sons, Duncan Alan McRae and his wife, Kathy, of Austin and Lloyd Earl McRae and his wife, Cindy, of Smithville; daughter, Linda Jean Wade and her husband, Donnie, of Tempe, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Mae Bruce of Hilltop Lakes.
