Death certificate on file in the Franklin County Courthouse in Louisburg,NC. Never married. There appear to be at least two unmarked graves nextto his in the Maple Springs Baptist Church cemetery. These could be thegraves of Maggie Lee Wortham, his mother, and "Shorty," his brother. Thisinformation comes from Mrs. Sandling of Sandling Funeral Home inFranklinton, NC. Mrs. Sandling knew "Billy" and rememberd that he used topreach on a nearby street corner. Billy's residence on his date of deathwas 606 East Mason St. in Franklinton, about a block from SandlingFuneral Home.

FRANKLINTON - William E. (Billy) Woodlief, 42, died Thursday. Funeralservices will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Union View BaptistChurch, of which he was a member, by the rev. Glenn Short. Burial will bein the Maple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery near Louisburg. A native ofFranklin County, he was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are hisfather, and stepmother, Mr. And Mrs. Eugene Woodlief of Franklinton;three half brothers, Bobby Eugene and Harold, both of Franklinton andWalter J. Woodlief with the U.S. Army in Germany.
