NJ in 1978: Giovannantonio (John Anthony) Brogna born on 9 Dec 1858 in
Montemiletto in the Province of Avellino. Diletta Gubitosa (Lillian)
born 8 Oct 1857 in Montemiletto married June 1882. During next 14 years
they farmed and had 5 children; Giovanna (Jennie), Angiola (Julie),
Flaminio (Frank), Olympia (Lena) and Armelinda (Mary). In 1896 John and
Diletta came to America. Had two more children, Carmela born in Hoboken,
NJ and Amelia (Mildred), born in Asbury Park, NJ. Before Diletta's death
in 1906. John remarried in 1907 to Pasqualina Ragna Damato of Montemiletto,
Italy. They had two daughters Rose and Anna. John and Pasqualina lived
out their lives in Asbury Park, NJ. John died on 1 Feb 1944 and
Pasqualina died 3 Feb 1954. Found birth certificate #321. Mother age 38
and father age 43. Parents were farmers. Giovannantonio was born at home.

year and lost first baby in that year, could not read or write english but
could speak it; son-in-law Tony Arbon (misspelled) born May 1878, age 22,
could not read, write, or speak English. Daughter Julia, born Feb 1895, age
15; Olena born Dec 1889, age 10; Mary born June 1892 age 7; Carmel born Nov
1895, age 4; and Amelia born Dec 1897, age 2.
1910 Census:
Monmouth County, Asbury Park, NJ on 22 April 1910. Lived at 1276 Washinton
St. with wife Pasqualina and three children. John, age 52, married 2nd time
12 year, immigrated 1890, naturalized, laborer at odd jobs, could read, write
and speak English. Also rented this home. Pasqualina age 42, immigrated 1907
and could not read or write English. Adopted daugher Carmen, age 14, could
read and write English; Adopted daughter Theresa age 8, and natural daugher
Rosina age 15 months born in NJ. Have not been able to find rest of John's
family. Have not found his marriage certificate to Pasqualina as of 12 May
1994.
