Er hat eine Beziehung mit Rose? MrsJames.
Kind(er):
Per "People of Columbus Co, NC" James is the father of Joseph. NOT PROVEN.
Further documentation is needed.
James was in Crusoe Island. and Wilmington, Hanover Co in the 1730's. He wife may have been a Mary possibly a daughter of John Wattson of Wilmington. (per Susan).
Per information from Susan Formyduval Thomas:
The Wilmington Town Book gave a description of him as being in the town of Newton/Wilmington in 1739 and as from the Island of Curresoe. He appears dead by 29 Apr 1754 according to uncollected taxes (1 shilling). Later in that year they needed buckets for the water engine and taxed again - to Rose Long (wife or daughter?) 1 shilling pd. It was customary for the earlier Newton deeds to read a provision requiring construction within two years of a tenantable house.
Possibly the following records from Wilmington, New Hanover Co, NC apply to this James Long.:
March Term - 14 March 1738/9
The following deed proved: John Wattson to James Long for lot in Newton, proved by John Smithies.
There is also mention of a James Long serving on the Jury in 1740, 1741 and 1742.
