   Konrad Spindleshanks (Polish: Konrad Laskonogi) (born between 1146-1157 - died between 1180-1190) was the youngest son of Władysław II the Exile, High Duke of Poland, and Agnes of Babenberg, daughter of Margrave Leopold III of Austria. Little is known of him, including his exact dates of birth and death, other than he was the Duke of Głogów from 1177 till his death.
   
   
   Silesian PiastsAs his father Władysław was expelled from Poland by his brothers in 1146, he probably was born at the Kaiserpfalz of Altenburg and prepared for an ecclestical career at the Benedictine abbey of Fulda. He was still a minor in 1163, when his elder brothers Bolesław I the Tall and Mieszko I Tanglefoot, backed by Emperor Frederick I Barbarossa, returned to Poland and received the Duchy of Silesia from their uncle High Duke Bolesław IV the Curly.
   
   Bolesław the Tall and Mieszko first ruled jointly but soon came into conflict with each other and in 1173 divided the duchy. The elder Bolesław then ruled over the larger part of Lower Silesia including Wrocław and Głogów. When Konrad came of age he also claimed his rights, nevertheless as the quarrels between the brothers continued, it was not until 1177/78, when Bolesław at the instance of High Duke Casimir II the Just ceded the newly established Duchy of Głogów to him.
   
   Konrad had never married and had no children. As he is not mentioned after 1178, he may have died shortly afterwards. His duchy was again inherited by his brother Bolesław.
