EARLDOM OF WARWICK (XV) 1446 to 1449
ANNE, presumably suo jure COUNTESS OF WARWICK and de jure BARONESSBURGHERSH, daughter and heir, was born February 1443/4 at Cardiff. On thedeath of the Duke of Gloucester, 23 February 1446/7, she succeeded to thelordship of the Channel Islands. She died 3 January 1448/9 at Ewelme,Oxon., and was buried in Reading Abbey, aged nearly 5. At her death theEarldom of Warwick was held to devolve on her only paternal aunt of thewhole blood, Anne. Anne, suo jure Countess of Warwick, and according to modern doctrine,Baroness Burghersh, only daughter and heir. She died an infant andunmarried 3 January 1448/9, when the Barony of Burghersh fell intoabeyance between her aunts [the daughters of Isabel, her grandmother, byher 2 husbands] or their descendants.
