She was born in the King Bee community, March 20, 1921, daughter of the late Cornelius Spaw and Priscilla (Robinson) Spaw. she was a housekeeper at Somerset City Hospital in Somerset, KY and a member of Langdon Street Baptist Church in Somerset.
Survivors include a son, Wendell (and Verla) Hughes of Campbellsville, KY, two sisters, Phyllis (and Jerry) Wheeldon, Darlene (and Daniel) Newberry both of Somerset, KY, five grandchildren, Tommy and Danny Hughes, Ron Wheeldon, Donna Newberry, Diana West and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, six brothers, Archie, Jim, Lonnie, Boyd, Milford and Hoye, five sisters, Nan Dick, Myrtle Roy, Gertie Dick, Mildred Hughes and Ada Spaw.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at Memory Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, with the Bro. Eugene Tarter officiating. Burial in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset, KY. Visitation for friends and the public will be Thursday after 6 p.m. at Memory Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
