Louise Sites HICKORY Louise Berry Sites, 82, of Newton, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at her residence. Born Nov. 6, 1929, in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late George Butler Berry and Maggie Blanche Hamm Berry. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Newton, where she was a member of the choir and United Methodist Women. She was a volunteer with the Red Cross, former den mother with the Boy Scouts, and had taught kindergarten for over 20 years at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Charlotte. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Claude Berry; half brother, Edward McGinnis; and half sisters, Nell Champion and Pauline Bronson. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Eugene "Gene" Sites of the home; sons, Robin Sites and wife, Debra, of Newton, Fred Sites and wife, Patricia, of Bessemer City and Bruce Sites of Hickory; daughter, Cynthia Sites-Wooley and husband, Jon, of Charlotte; and grandchildren, Kevin Sites, Mallory Sites, Ashley Sites, Brittany Sites and Wesley Sites. A service of remembrance will be held Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at 4 p.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church in Newton with Revs. Brad Thie and Eric Morphis officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. Memorials may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1373, Newton, NC 28658.
