Gardner Jamison (Sr?) was born circa 1774 at Chester Co., SC; Date of birth from Census. He was the son of Robert Jamison (Sr?). Gardner Jamison (Sr?) married Sarah Jamison. Gardner Jamison (Sr?) witnessed the will of Alexander Kennedy in August 1797; Listed in the will of Axexander Kennedy. Gardner Jamison (Sr?) bought land Plat for 11 Acres on Rockey Creek, Chester Co., Pinckeny District, Surveyed by Andrew McDowell - from SC Archives & HistorySer# S213192- Vol 0037, Pg 00217, Item 4 on 1 February 1799 at Chester County, SC. He appeared on the census of 1800 at SC; One son between 16-25, one dau under 10, one dau between 10-15, and wife is about his same age (0,0,1,1,0 - 1,1,1,0,0).
He appeared on the census of 1810 at SC; (One son under 10, four daughters under 10, wife shown about same age)1-0-0-1-0, - 4-0-0-1-0-0. He witnessed the probate of the estate of Samuel Ferguson Sr. on 13 November 1817 at Chester County, SC; Listed in the Estate of Samuel Ferguson, Sr. Gardner Jamison (Sr?) appeared on the census of 1820 at SC; Three sons under 10, one between 11-16, two daughters between 11-16, two daughters between 17-26 (3-1-0-0-0-1, 0-2-2-1-0). He was New Tag Petition asking that the Legislature vest in him and his heirs a tract of land in Chester District along Rocky Creek. on 21 November 1823 at Chester County, SC. He died circa 1826 at Chester County, SC; Date of Death approximated from Probate papers. He was Is listed as one of the Trustees of Bethlehem Meeting House (See Page 5 of "The Revolutionary Soldiers of Catholic Presbyterian Church-Chester Historical Society). In the name of God, Amen.
I Gardner Jamieson of Chester District and State of South Carolina do make and constitute this as my Last Will in the manner and form following Viz:
Item:
1. I return my Soul to God who gives it and my body to the dust from whence it came to be buried in a decent manner at the discretion of my Executor.
2. I give unto my beloved wife Sarah Jamieson, my eldest son Robert Jamison and my second son Gardner Jamieson all my Estate Real and personal until such time as my youngest child comes of age and so much of the profits and there from as may be necessary to allow to go to schooling of my children who may not yet have had an Education my will further is that no sale or distribution of my. Be made except so much as may be absolutely necessary for the payment of my Just Debts and … … legacy's as may be below named.
3. I give and bequeath unto Joseph Anderson in right of his wife Ginney either in property if such may suit him or in money as soon as it can made either by the collection of my debts or the profits arising from my Estate and that interest from my …. Be allowed thereon.
4. It is my will and thereby order it that the time my youngest child comes of age, all my Estate Real and personal be appraised by Administrated persons and divided into equal lots and that my two eldest sons Robt & Gardner receive double the portion of the younger or other children and my wife Sarah is to have her living out of my property above named during her lifetime in widowhood and if she should marry I allow her a portion equal to that of one my youngest children.
5. I wish my Executor to take notice that allotment (?) is depending with William McCalley of Columbia and as for his invoices and other (?) which have come to my knowledge and as I believe I am entitled to certain credits which is no where exhibited in any of his bills to the amount (?) of fifty dollars and upward and as he holds my note for a certain amount where a settlement of all your affairs completed if any balance is due him I charge my Executor with the payment thereof as soon as possible.
6. I wish it to be remembered by my Executors and Heirs and my Will in that whereas the title of the tract of land whereon my brother James Jamison liveth was taken out in my name and whereas there was a perfect understanding between him and (???) that when he repaid me the money (??) (??) in the purchase of (?) land with lawful interest thereon that he should have a title to the same in his own name and I do hereby charge my Heirs or Executors with fulfillment of the contract on my part when J.(?) Jamison complies with his part of the contract and that they make him a title accordingly.
7. I ordain, constitute, …………. (appoint?) (?) Jamison & my sons Robert and Gardner Jamison Executors of this my Las Will and Testament and also guardians of my (?) children.
