COOPER, Gertrude, 95, Hickorynut Ridge, Nancy, Kentucky, passed away Friday, June 25th, 2004 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, Somerset, Kentucky. She was born September 27th, 1908 in the Pointer Community of Pulaski County, a daughter of the late George Dye and Viola Gossett Dye. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hopeful Baptist Church. She was loved and admired by her community, children and numerous great and great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kind heart and how she always said she loved everybody. She is survived by two sons; Carl Cooper, Yorktown, Indiana and Robert (and Faye) Cooper, Jr., Somerset, Kentucky: four daughters; Sylvia (and Harold) Crisp, Knoxville, Tennessee, Ruth (and Bill) Sexton, Muncie, Indiana, Sue Jackson, Muncie, Indiana and Julia (and Bob) Cunningham, Somerset, Kentucky: 25 grandchildren: numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband; Robert Alger Cooper, whom she married on January 2nd, 1927 in the Nancy Community: one son; Verl Cooper: two daughters; Helen Withers and Delta Marie Cooper: three brothers; Marion, Denney and Delmer Floyd: five sisters; Flossie Trimer, Nina Loveless, Martha Floyd, Flonnie Dye and Luella Dye: 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 28th, 2004 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hopeful Cemetery, Nancy, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 27th, 2004 at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hopeful Cemetery Fund. Somerset Obits site
