In 1747, John sold land to james Summers in Prince George. It is likely that John is selling land belonged to his deceased father. John settled near Kingstree, Williamsburg. By 1754 John had settled in Prince Fredericks Parish. 1763 purchased a 300 acre tract in Williamsburg from James Witherspoon (South of theKings Tree). Died between 1784 (when he is shown on a tax list and received anindent in payment of his claim against the state for provisions and forage furnished to the SC forces fighting the British after May 1780) and 1789 when hisson Henry, as heir, sold the property south of the Kings Tree. In 1763, he conveyed land in Williamsburg to his son, Henry, who sold it to John Kinder on 2feb 1789, who sold it to Robert Hamilton Sr on 9 jun 1796, who gave it to Benjamin Durant in 1809 by way of his daughter, Mary Hamilton, wife of Benjamin. 25feb 1761-bought land in St. Marks Parish, Craven from Elizabaeth Hayes, exec of John Hayes dced. nov 1761-John of Prince Fredericks Parish, craven planter,and wife Hannah sell to James Bradley land in St. Marks Parish granted to JohnHayse 1758 and transferred to John by the exec of John Hayse. rec 1774 Georgetown Dist Jury List 1783
