BIOGRAPHY: Margaret Rose Boemer was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 5, 1907 to Charles and Edna (Buchanan) Schaefer. An only child, she attended Garfield Elementary School in Pine Lawn and Wellston High School. She was one of the first graduates of Normandy High School.
BIOGRAPHY: Margaret worked at Glasco Electric in St. Louis. She met Fred Boemer there, and they wereunited in marriage on July 13, 1929 at Second Presbyterian Church in St. Louis. Ellen Jane and Alien James were born to that union; 9 grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
BIOGRAPHY: After Margaret married Fred, she became an integral part of Fred's large family, carrying for the younger brother and sister, and later for nieces and nephews.
BIOGRAPHY:Edna and Charles Schaefer were founding members of Nelson Presbyterian Church in Pine Lawn. Margaret and Fred were both members of that church, raising theirchildren there, and remaining active until it closed when they became participating members of John Calvin Presbyterian Church.
BIOGRAPHY: At Nelson, Margaret was active in the Hinn Circle and mission work. During WWII, she joined other women in preparing first aid packs, knitting helmet liners and other items for the military. She also trained to be a theater manager during the war, in the event Fred was drafted.
BIOGRAPHY: Fred and Margaret were enthusiastic members of the Holiday Ramblers Club and visited every state of the Union, with the exception of Hawaii, and every province in Canada. On many of these trips, their grandchildren accompanied them.
BIOGRAPHY: ~Their daughter, Ellen BoemerBrooks, preceded them in death on March 9,1975, and Fred preceded Margaret indeath on February 18, 1998.
She is survived by her son, Alien, daughter-in-law, Lois and their children: Susan Marie Sullivan, Cheryl Joann Boemer, Lisa Ellen Byrne and Eric Alien Boemer; and Ellen's children: Steven Paul Brooks, Brian(sic) Thomas Brooks, Wendy Anne Brooks, Lynne Ellen Riddell and Wade Alan Brooks.
BIOGRAPHY: ~Her great grandchildren are: Rebekah and Leah Brooks; Elisabeth and Kaitlin Brooks; Matthew and Samantha Riddell; Christopher Robinson, DanaRussell, Kara, Adam and Olivia Brooks; Brendan, Meghan, Darcy and Bridget Sullivan; Ryan, Caileigh and Thomas Byrne, and William and Anna Boemer. The two great great grandchildren are: Cloe Barton and Owen Robinson.
