Robert Morgan Robson, 84, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2006. Bob was born in the Wardner hospital on November 28, 1921 to Ira Allen Robson of Montana and Margaret Morgan of Idaho.
Bob grew up in Kellogg, Idaho, graduated from high school there and attended the University of Idaho where he studied pre-med. He joined the Navy in 1941 and was assigned to Naval Air Training Command in Florida. He said the only good thing he got out of the war was his wife. He married Catherine Penelope Agee, of Mobile, Alabama in 1944.
After the war, they settled in Idaho and Bob went to Law School. Bob was a life long member of the Republican Party: he served as the State Finance Chairman, on the Executive Committee and eventually as the Attorney General for the State of Idaho in 1969. Bob was appointed District Attorney for the Trust Territories in the South Pacific in 1954 and operated the Micronesian Prosecutor’s School there. Altogether, Bob practiced law for 5 years in Grangeville, 3 years in Micronesia, 13 years in Kellogg, 15 years in Boise and 6 years in Phoenix, Arizona. He argued a case in front of the Supreme Court of the United States in 1970. Among his many accomplishments Bob started the Idaho State Police Academy and the Episcopal Church in Grangeville. He was devoted to Demolay, the Masonic Lodge, and the University of Idaho. Bob committed his life to public service.
Bob was a passionate aviator. After training fighter pilots in World War Two, he spent the rest of his life flying for the pure joy of it.
Bob and Penny, his wife of 62 years, retired in Hayden. He has four children: Catherine Lynn of Afghanistan, James Allen of Hayden, Margaret Leslie and Kevin Whaley of San Diego and Robert Agee of Hayden. He has six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. His ashes will be buried at the feet of his mother-in-law, Eugenie Agee, in Alabama. A public remembrance will be held in November. Special thanks to the Circle of Life at the Kootenai Medical Center.
