Will be happy to share info. abt. the following: RICHARDSON, HALL, FORBUS,
LOGAN, LEE, JOHNSON, BURKE, CURLEE Washington W. Richardson was the son of David Richardson born before 1789 in Virginia, and Priscilla Morris. David and Priscilla were married in Abbeville S.C. about 1812, and removed with their three sons to Henry County Georgia during the early 1820's. In 1828, David purchased 202 1/2 acres of land lying on the border of Henry and DeKalb Counties where they lived until David's death in 1830. David Richardson's will named his "trusty friend" Stephen Terry (Priscilla's first cousin) and wife Priscilla as executors of his estate and named children Washington W.,Robert S. and Sarah Adeline. The will was witnessed by Priscilla's brother, John Morris, her first cousin Wm. Terry, and her neice's husband Thomas J.
Tanner. At the time of his Father's death, Washington W. Richardson was about 17 years of age, with a younger brother Robert 10, and younger sister Sarah Adeline 4, (another brother William had died at about age 16). Washington's Mother Priscilla, married Hardy Daniel in 1831, and the family remained on the land in Henry County. In 1833, Washington W. Richardson is shown as a voter in an election for Governor and members of the Georgia General Assembly held at the house of John Lovejoy in the 12th district of Henry County. Washington W. Richardson married Nancy Hall about 1836, and they are shown living next door to his Mother Priscilla and Step-father Hardy Daniel in Henry County in 1840 with two sons and a daughter. In 1842 Washington W. purchased from his step father Hardy Daniel, the same lot of land which his Father David had purchased in Henry County in 1828. His sister Sarah Adeline had married Bartilla B.Daniel in 1840 and were also living in Henry County Ga. Washington W.Richardson and his family evidently stayed in Georgia until about 1850 as records show his seventh child Mary Jane as being born in Ga. abt. 1850. By 1847, Washington W. Richardson's Mother, Sister, and Brother were all in Chambers County Alabama. His Brother Robert S. married Jane A. Cook (his first cousin) abt. 1836, and later he and his Mother and Sister's families moved to Tallapoosa Co. Alabama. Priscilla Morris/Richardson/Daniel died in 1866 and is buried in Liberty Cemetery Tallapoosa Co. Al. Robert S. had a total of six children by two wives, his second wife being Mary E. Gresham/Hubbard(widow of his first cousin). The children's names were Joseph D.-Samuel D.- Benjamin W.-Littleberry-Robert L.-and Felix. Robert is buried in Liberty Cemetery Tallapoosa County Alabama. Sarah Adeline Richardson/Daniel and her husband Bartilla had at least 11 children and according to her will they married into the Taunton, Johnston, Sasnett and Golden families. Sarah Adeline died in 1912, and is buried in Liberty Cemetery Tallapoosa Co. Alabama. The first record of Washington W. Richardson in Coosa Co. Al. is 6 Dec. 1850 when he purchased 160 acres in the S.E. corner of Sec. 12, Township 21 Range 20. He made further land purchases in 1852, 1855, and 1865 all in the same area of Coosa County. This is the area where the "Richardson-Forbus" house was located when it was purchased by Mr. Ronnie Joiner. In 1926, Washington W. Richardson's son W. D. Richardson sold the land including the cabin to A.E. Forbus and his wife Ethel with his son J.L. Richardson signing the deed as having power of attorney for W.D. Washington W. Richardson seemed to be a civic minded man, as he is listed as one of the early Postmasters in Nixburg in 1867, and was a Justice of the Peace at the time of his death in 1868. The exact circumstances of his death are unclear, but the following letter from W.W. Richardson was admitted to probate as his will on 16 Nov. 1868 by Judge T.W. Fargason. " Dr. Wiffe I come to the conclusion to relieve my Self from truble on account of truble present & ahead of me not for any thing that you have don or any others of the family have don to wards me I am affraid of disgrace and ruin on acount wrongfuly and contrary to law through fool ignorance Thereby bringing Shame upon Me as a Justice of the Peace then besides that I have been affected by a morbid disposition at times both phisicaly & mentally which, distrebest me work at times I see nothing but hard times ahead of me in this world, you and the family can get along better with out me then with me the boys no doubt will take care of you I hope the people will have mercy on you altho I may I may, have injured some of them on yesterday by my case with them. but I hope they will forgive me you can do with my body as you pleas I want you to have it put in a plain black pine coffin plain clothes I will say to you I have no dout beyond the grave my Spirit will nod doubt be at rest for ever (stay?) I could say many---? but must close I want you to keep the land together" (signed W.W. Richardson)
W.W. Richardson was found dead with the above letter in his pocket. Mr. W.L. Johnson testified the handwriting was that of W.W. Richardson. George Washington Richardson ( his oldest son), was appointed administrator of Washington W. Richardson's estate. In addition to about 440 acres in Coosa County, the estate inventory showed household furniture, livestock, and notes owing to the estate for purchases by L.J. Forbus, Edward Forbus, G.F. Forbus, J.A. or S.M.A. Chapman, and interest from S.R. Hagan, and A.G. Holloway. George W. Richardson continued to administer his Father's estate until 1871, when he left the State of Alabama and moved to Tennessee. On August 21, 1871, George W. Richardson's brother William D., and his sister's husband Levi N. Lee petitioned the court to have George removed as administrator as he had left the State. From the records which show the land where the Richardson/Forbus house was located remained in the possession of Washington W. Richardson and his descendants from 1850 to 1926, it seems a reasonable assumption that Washington W. Richardson was the builder of that cabin. Washington W. Richardson and wife Nancy had at least 10 children, with the last three being born in Coosa County Alabama between 1851 and 1856. CHILDREN OF WASHINGTON W. RICHARDSON Washington W. Hi Ron, thanks--I have been to the Pine Grove Cem. in Coosa Co. Al.--the
birth date on the tombstone of W.W. Richardson isn't correct. At least not
according to the 1830, 1840, 1850 census records! All of those would
indicate that Washington W. RICHARDSON was born 1812 or 1813. Washington W. committed suicide and his suicide note was admitted to probate as a will!

W.W. Richardson first appears as a voter at the House of Lovejoy in Henry
County Ga. in 1833. He purchased lot #234 Section 12 Henry Co. from Hardy
Daniel (his stepfather) in 1842. The 1840 Henry Co. Ga. census shows him
with wife and 2 male ch. under age 10, one female ch. under 5. He next appears
in Coosa County Al. Rockford P.O. listed as Washington W. WILLIAMS (error on
the part of census taker). He committed suicide in Coosa Co. Al. in 1868, his
suicide note was admitted to probate as a will.
