Er ist verheiratet mit Hester van Vorst.
Sie haben geheiratet am 15. April 1696 in New York Reformed Dutch Church, er war 27 Jahre alt.
Kind(er):
Isaac DELAMONTANIE, son of Jan La Montagne and his second wife Maria Vermilye, was baptized on 19 May 1669 NYRDC. ; His baptismal sponsors were his grandfather Isaac Vermilye and his aunt Rachel (Vermilye) van der Bosch. He was just three years old when his father died, nine when his step-father died, and twenty when his mother died.
When Isaac was ten years old, he was apprenticed for three years to Jan Dyckman, who was to clothe him and send him to school. A farmer and major landowner, Jan Dyckman (together with Jan Nagel) owned all the land in Harlem north of Sherman's Creek.
When adult, Isaac served as a soldier in His Majesty's fort at New York under Jacob Leisler. His uncle, Johannes Vermilye, was a member of the Committee of Safety which appointed Captain Leisler to be captain of the fort and which, on 16 August 1689, signed Captain Leisler's commission as commander in chief of the province of New York. It is very likely that Isaac Delamontanie owed his position at the fort, in part at least, to his uncle's political influence, since Isaac Delamontanie was not on the list of regular troops commanded by Lieutenant Governor Nicholson in May 1689. It is not known what happened to Isaac Delamontanie when the Leislerians fell from favor in 1691. Leisler himself was executed and Johannes Vermilye was imprisoned, tried, and sentenced to death for treasonous insurrection, but was later pardoned by the king in 1692 and finally released in 1693.
On 15 April 1696 Isaac married Hester Van Vorst in the NYRDC, Hester Van Vorst was called a young girl from Albany and is believed to be the daughter of Jacobus Gerritsz Van Vorst.
Isaac Montagne was registed a freeman of New York City on 9 August 1698, with no profession listed.
Isaac Delamontanie died in New York City in 1703. He left a widow and four small children. In the census of New York City taken in 1703, Hester Montaine is listed as the head of a household in the North Ward, with male children and one female child. In 1704 Hester married Alexander Phoenix (frequently spelled Fenix or Phenix) and had six more children.
Hester Van Vorst Delamontanie and her second husband lived in New York City. It is not known when or where Hester died. She is last mentioned in the records of the NYRDC for the baptism of her youngest child, Alexander Phenix, on 22 April 1716. She and her second husband were probably dead by 1724, because neither of them appear as baptismal sponsors for any of their grandchildren.
