MRS. KATHERINE MONTAYNE, 85, SOCIAL SERVICES DEPT. NURSE
Mayfield -- A service will be held tomorrow for Mrs. Katherine Montayne, 85, formerly of 5 Woodside Ave., who died Saturday night at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville.
She had been a resident of the Gloversville Extended Care Facility for the past two years.
Born in Johnstown, Mrs. Montayne graduated from Gloversville High School and the Nathan Littauer Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at the hospital after graduating in 1925 and then worked for 35 years for the Fulton County Social Services Department, retiring in 1970.
She was a 50-year member of the Cayadutta chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Nathan Littauer Hospital Nurses' Alumni Association. Her husband, W. Sanford Montayne, died in 1961.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Ann Basileo of Gloversville and Mrs. Lorraine Aufdescheide of Scotia; and a brother, William Archinal of Gloversville.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Hollenbeck Funeral Home of Gloversville. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 tonight, with a service at 7:30 by the Order of the Eastern Star chapter. Burial will be in the Mayfield Cemetery.
