Col Peter CADMUS was born on 2 Jun 1739 in Belleville, Essex, NJ. Cadmus Family Bible Records, on deposit at the New Jersey Historical Society. Cadmus Family Bible "(Peter) Cadmus's Book. Born the 2d day of June in the year of our Lord, 1739. Old Style" "Blandany Kipp, born April 21 in the year 1740 - old style." "June 17th, in the year 1759, I, Peter Cadmus was married with Blandany Kipp."
[The following records of this family are taken from this same Cadmus Family Bible, which was in the possession of Sarah Cox King, the daughter of Phoebe Cadmus Cox. It was published in 1801 by Hugh Gaine's Press of Newark, NJ. Included in the papers is a letter to Mrs. Henry C. Ward (the DAR member sited above) from the librarian of the Newark Public Library. Grace Louise (Cadmus) Ward had requested a copy of the title page of the Bible.

He served in the military in Revolutionary War. Peter Cadmus (1739-1810), served as private minute man in the New Jersey, Essex County Militia.
