Ruth Marie "Sunny" Seckler, 87 of Newtown died Friday, March 28, 2008 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Seckler has been a resident of Bucks County since 1954. Ruth participated in the Senior Day Program at Chandler Hall for several years. In her former years, Ruth along with her late husband Robert founded the Ruth Charles Shoe Company for which she was the designer. She was also a model and a professional singer. Ruth was an enthusiastic traveler and enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening and the pleasure of the company of her family.
Son [sic] of the late Nathaniel and Margaret Skinner; beloved wife of the late
Robert Charles Seckler; she is survived by her children Jacquie Malvey of Newtown, Robin Asjes and her husband Dick of Zurich, Switzerland, Jeffrey Seckler of Newtown and Jennifer Meissner and her husband Peter of Malibu, Calif. She is also survived by her sister Irene Betchaver of Medford, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Kristine, Suzanne, Brandon, Alexa, Jeff and Cameron; and five great grandchildren, Andy, Steven, Jack, Sam and Sally.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Burial Service at Wrightstown Friends Meeting, 535 Durham Rd. Newtown, Pa., 18940 Saturday April 5, 2008 at 12 Noon with a Meeting for Worship immediately following. Arrangements are under the direction of the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, Inc. Richboro.
