OBIT: Chester E. Visneski Jr., 61, of Benton, Jackson Township, passed away Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015 at home. Mr. Visneski was born in Wilkes-Barre on Sept. 7, 1953, and was the son of the late Chester and Viola Sickler Visneski. Chester graduated from West Side Technical Vocational School, Pringle, in 1971. He was employed by the National Transit as a boilermaker and later worked for the Boilermakers Union Local 13, retiring in 2008. Chester was a member of the South Mountain Land Association, the Nation Rifle Association, Noxen-Monroe Sportsman's Club and was the founder of the Noxen-Monroe Rattlesnake Hunt. Chester enjoyed planting trees, hunting, fishing, camping, and all things "nature." In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, John Weber. Chester is survived by his wife of 24 years, the former Marcia Stefanowicz; daughter, Crystal Visneski of Noxen; stepdaughter, Becky Whitmire, Centermoreland; brothers, Ronald Visneski, Noxen; Eugene Visneski, Larksville; John Kovalick, Scranton; and Charles Kovalick, Noxen; sisters, Betty Newell, Noxen; and Barbara Crispell, Beaumont; grandchildren, Joshua, Brittney and Lanie. A private funeral service will be held from Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home, Inc., Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with the Rev. Linda Bryan of Noxen United Methodist Church, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Private interment will be in the Dymond section of Orcutt's Grove Cemetery, Monroe Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to Huntington's Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Ave., Suite 902, New York, NY 10018.
