Hackensack Reformed Dutch Church
Sie ist verheiratet mit Garrabrant Gerrebrandse.
Sie haben geheiratet am 27. Oktober 1747 in Essex County, New Jersey, sie war 24 Jahre alt.
Kind(er):
According to William Nelson in the "History of the City of Paterson and the County of Passaic, New Jersey", this Catrina Pier married her cousin named Abraham Pier, son of Johannis Teunis Pier and his wife Susanna Rutan. His sister, also named Catrina Pier, is said to have married Gerrebrand Gerrebrantsen, according to Nelson.
However, the Van Emburgh Papers at the New Jersey State Archives include a document drawn up on 7 August 1781 but never signed, in which some heirs of Dr. William Sanford Van Emburgh, namely John King, Awry King, Garrabrant Garrabrantse, James Powleson, and John Van Imburgh, "relatives of the said Doctor William Sanford Van Emburgh" agree to pay all debts owed by the doctor [who had died in 1778] in return for being assigned all mortgages, bonds, bills, and notes belonging to the estate.
In order for Garrabrant Garrabrantse to be a relative and an heir of Dr. William Sanford Van Emburgh, he was either the son or the husband of Catrina Pier, daughter of Abram Pier and Sarah Van Emburgh. So Nelson must have confused the two Catrina Piers, not an unusual mistake since the two women were cousins and lived in the same area.
