YAKIMA - Florence Hare, age 99, passed away on June 7, 2006. She was born September 26, 1906 in Twin Oaks, California to Oscar and Lillian Cochems. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, four brothers and her husband of 49 years, Roland Merrill Hare.
Florence moved to Washington State shortly after her marriage. She settled in Seattle, WA. During he marriage, she also lived in Yakima, Wenatchee and Spokane due to her husbands occupations. Upon retirement, they settled in Sun City, AZ for eleven years. Upon her husbands death, she returned to Yakima to be near her family.
Her surviving family includes her one brother, Jack Cochems; her daughters, Lillian Harrington and Barbara King (Edward); nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She has always been a generous and loving presence in each of our lives and will be dearly missed.
A special thanks to the loving care she received from her caregivers, Arlo and Jennifer Hamel, her great-grandchildren, during the past 15 months of her life.
