(Approximate English translation):
No. [Noble] Giovanni Calandrini born in Lucca [Italy] in 1544, there long led the wandering life of a persecuted religionist. From Lyon where he had first arrived he went to Antwerp where he married from there to Muret, then Frankfurt, to Hamburg, to Staden, to Embden, to Amsterdam where he married in a second marriage, and finally in London where he died on 4 April 1623. In the midst of all these tribulations he had composed a catechism for his children and also a little book of the duties of men entitled Christian Practice, which was printed. It appears that from Frankfurt he came to attend the marriage contract of his cousin Renée Burlamacchi, wife of No. [Noble] César Balbani on November 8, 1586 (Jovenon, notorary).
He married [his] 1st [wife] in Antwerp in February 1581 [who was] Marie, daughter of Jean de Maistres, trader in Antwerp, and of [his wife, Marie’s mother] Marie Mercier said Coquiel; [he] died in Amsterdam [on] 8 October 1605; – [he married his] 2nd [wife] in Amsterdam on 28 August 1607 [who was] Caterina de Pietraviva, widow of Sp. Aussuerus of Reghemester, Flemish minister in London; [his 2nd wife Caterina] died 12 July 1618. He had by his first [wife, Marie de Maistres, the following 9 children who are listed on page 713]
