Beth (Calderwood) Ebach, age 78, of Erie passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012 at her residence. She was born on February 25, 1934 in Kane, PA at the Kane Community Hospital, which her grandfather Walter Scott Calderwood was one of the founders, to the late George and Dorothy (Reese) Calderwood. Beth was raised in Warren, PA and was a graduate of Baldwin High School in Bryn Mawr, PA and received her Bachelor of the Arts degree in Psychology from Goucher College in Towson, MD. She lived in Erie for 33 years before moving to Vero Beach, FL in 1992 and back to Erie in 2008. Prior to marriage she was employed by the American Red Cross in Home Services and served on two National Disasters as a case worker. She volunteered at St. Peter Cathedral, Cathedral Center School, Boys baseball and the Red Cross in Erie. She also volunteered at Holy Cross Church in Vero Beach. She enjoyed playing cards. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Matthew B. Ebach, wife Hillary of Chicago, Gary A. Ebach, wife Linda of Erie; a daughter-in-law Mary Ebach of Erie; six grandchildren Spencer and Grace Ebach of Chicago, Erin, Matt and Adam Ebach and Andrew Angert all of Erie. She is also survived by her former husband Robert Ebach of Vero Beach, FL and a very special care giver and friend, Dan Jenkin. Beth was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, a son Bradley A. Ebach, two sisters and a brother. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street. Services will be held there on Wednesday at 9:30 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 am. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bradley A. Ebach Scholarship Fund, c/o Cathedral Preparatory School, 225 West 9th Street, Erie, PA 16501 or the Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation, 130 West 8th Street, Erie, PA 16501. The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregiver Sue, from Home Instead Senior Care.
