Farr West – Teresa Lynn Post Schoonmaker returned to her Father in Heaven on August 12, 2010 surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous five year battle with Neuroendocrine Pancreatic Carcinoma Cancer.
Teresa was born to Judy Overman Post and Henry Post on March 12, 1966 in Ogden, Utah. She spent her childhood among a loving family in Plain City, Utah. Teresa and David fell fast in love soon after meeting and they married for eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 10, 1985. Together they built their first and only home in Farr West, Utah where they were blessed with five beautiful children.
Teresa attended Weber High School where she graduated in 1984 as a Sterling Scholar in business among many other achievements. She then continued her education at Weber State University where she received her Associates. Teresa was able to use her accounting abilities first at Smith & Edwards and then to run the office for the family business. Teresa served as the PTA president at each of her children's schools along with many other years of service within the organization. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she served in many different presidencies and callings where she was able to touch the lives of those around her.
Teresa enjoyed camping, hiking, boating, and anything outdoors that included family and friends. She also loved vacationing to tropical spots with those close to her. She had an amazing artistic ability and loved crafts, painting, and creating beautiful pieces. Often you would find Teresa outside working in her flowerbeds where she found great joy. Each week she looked forward to the date night with her sweetheart and Sunday afternoons at her parents with all the family. As a mother she loved supporting her children in all their activities and making their lives the very best. Teresa loved being a grandma and would call the time spent with her grandson her "medicine". She was a loving mother, friend and neighbor, always looking for ways to help others with her endless compassion.
Teresa is survived by her husband, David A. Schoonmaker; her five children, Katie (Chad) Widdison, Hadlee (Spencer) Rose, Mitchell, Lindsey, and Jodi. Her parents Judy and Henry Post; her siblings, Mike Post, Erik (Michelle) Post, Jeff (Natalie) Post, and Nicole (Ken) Hall. Also, surviving is her grandson Elijah Chad Widdison, along with many nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to all the dedicated nurses and doctors at Huntsman Cancer Institute and McKay Dee Hospital. We would also like to give our sincere thank you to her endless number of friends and close family.
Teresa will be extremely missed by many, but her life was an inspiration to all those who knew her. She will continue to live on through each and every one of us.
