Mary F. Williams, 55, from Fairview, WV, spent her last days at home with her family before she went to be with Jesus Wednesday night, March 27, 2013. She received her ultimate healing after a three year battle with a muscular disease and cancer, during which her husband, Gary, of 33 years never left her side.
Mary was a strong woman with a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh. She was a 1975 graduate of Fairview High School and worked as a dedicated employee of Sams Club for 20 years. Mary was passionate about volunteering with the Childrens Miracle Network for many years and also participated in the Relay for Life on several occasions. She was actively involved and loved attending Noahs Ark church where she was a member.
Mary was a supportive wife, mother and Mawmaw, as well as a beloved aunt, sister and friend. She always looked forward to visiting with loved ones at the traditional Swiger family gatherings. Mary enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially attending their sporting events. She spent a lot of time recently saying, Praise God! for all of the little things.
Mary will be dearly missed by her husband and their four daughters, April Williams of Morgantown, Andrea Bland & husband Steven of Fairview, Ashley Cortellini & husband Richard of Fairmont, Alisha Williams & Mathew of Worthington; as well as three grandsons, Gavin, 12, Gabriel, 6, and Zaiden, 4; one granddaughter, Ada Marie, 19 months, (& another grandson due July 1st); along with two sisters, Juantia Fox and Alice Milliron; three brothers, Joe Swiger & wife Rose, Jim Swiger & wife Elva and John Swiger & wife Julie; four brothers-in-law, Carl Williams & wife Lilliam, Timothy Williams, Harold Williams and wife Lena, and Terry Williams; two sisters-in-law, Florence Tyree and husband Harry and Lora Woolwine; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Marys parents, Claude J. and N. Jean Swiger of Fairview and her father- and mother-in-law Carl and Nellie Williams went on from this life before her.
Friends and family will be received at Domico Funeral Home, Curry Chapel in Fairview on Friday March 29, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 1:00p.m. at Marys home church, Noahs Ark in Fairview. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery. The pallbearers, dressed in their blue jeans at Marys request, will be the boys, John Swiger Jr., Jim Swiger, II, Joseph Swiger, Christopher Milliron, and Clarence Swiger, as well as Jason Statler. Donations in Marys memory can be sent to Noahs Ark Assembly of God, P.O. Box 309, Fairview, WV 26570 OR West Virginia Rescue Ministries (the Union Mission), Inc. 107 Jefferson St. Fairmont, WV 26554. Mary's maiden name was Swiger.
When it comes to administrating, building and maintaining the site, Find A Grave is largely operated by its founder, Jim Tipton. Jim created the Find A Grave website in 1995 because he could not find an existing site that catered to his hobby of visiting the graves of famous people. He found that there are many thousands of folks around the world who share his interests. What began as an odd hobby became a livelihood and a passion. Building and seeing Find A Grave grow beyond his wildest expectations has been immensely satisfying for Jim. Every day, contributors from around the world enter new records, thousands use the site as an educational reference tool, long-lost loved ones are located and millions of lives are fondly remembered. In what other line of work would Jim have met one of the last living Munchkins, spoken to a gathering of grave enthusiasts in a Hollywood mausoleum and acquired treasures like his antique coffin screwdriver (it only screws in)?
