My information has come from a file that was given to me. It is quite
extensive and does list sources. Not having done the research myself, I
can't vouch for it 100%, but I can say so far what I have found on my own
and what has been discussed on this list seems to support the majority of
the data held in the file.

died Unknown. She married Wm John Hayes 31 Oct 1727 in Baltimore co., MD

was born at St. John's Parish, Deer Creek

i. Wm W. (4) CRABTREE III was born 22 Dec 1726 in Kingsville Baltimore
Co., MD and died 17 Feb 1777 in Saltville, Washington Co., VA. He married
Hannah Lyon? Whitaker 27 May 1746 in Kingsville, Baltimore Co., MD
daughter of Abraham Whitaker and Ann Poteet.


notes: noted Long Hunter,
PAF @ MAHON Library 3/18/95 shows they had another son named Samuel born
circa 1764 which is the first time I have seen this. John and Jemima
CRABTREE have a son Samuel born circa 1764 so I am not showing Samuel as
a son of this family yet.
Georges 2nd Militia of the Co., of Bedford
moved to Washington co., VA between 1768 - 1772
St John's Church - Protestant Epicaopal - Kingsville, MD
Known as Gunpowder Hundren in 1680; copley Parish 1692, then St. Johns;
the oldest parish in Baltimore co., MD - 1674 Jeremiah eaton devised 340
AC for maintenance of the 1st Protestant ministers who would reside in
Baltimore Co., and to his successors forever. This bequest was confirmed
to the rector of St. John's Parish, Baltimore co., by and act of the
Colonial Assembly in 1719

1758 Hennings statues vol. 7p. 308 or Lord Dunmores's war, vol. 1p. 404
Jul 20 1768 land grant 378 ac Bedford Co., VA on Cub Branch a west brach
of Gills Creek to Wm III
1772 Wm sold to Amos Ellison 376 ac in Bedford Co., VA
26 Aug 1774 land grant to William (from Lord Dunmore War, p. 83) William
and John listed in Crozier's continental militia and that William and
John of Bedford Co., left there and settled in Washington Col, VA at
Saltville
1756-7 sister Elizabeth and her husband James Poteet went with brothers
Wm III and John (and families) to Bedford Co., VA


John Newland sold land to James CRABTREE who sold to William Walker
CRABTREE deposes he knew the land as a hunter 1772 - 9. James CRABTREE
deposes that in 1780 -1, William Walker settled on Laurel Fork.

William III moved his family from the Maryland Plantation to Bedford Co.,
VA in 1758 thence to Washington Co, VA in 1775.


It makes it tough when our ancestors named everyone after everyone
else..... I have two lines of "DAY'S" that intermarried and of course all
the daughters and sons names are similar or the same - made it sorting
out the two lines.... :-)
