notes
from http://dougsinclairsarchives.com/woodbury/johnwoodbury2.htm#vitals
Another misreading of 17th century records has led to the thought that John's wife was Elizabeth Tenney. Evidence places her as the wife of John Woodbury, son of Humphrey and nephew of the John of this biography. Also based on existing records, there is little doubt that she was the daughter of William Tenney of Rowley, born in 1643, making her too young to have had children in the earlier part of the 1650s. A daughter of Humphrey married John Tenney of Bradford, likely a cousin of Elizabeth Tenney. Neither Rowley nor Bradford, which are neighboring towns, are near Beverly in 17th century terms. This enhances the idea that Woodbury siblings had the Tenney connection.
confusion of Elizabeth Tenney's
Note she never married John Woodbury son of William Woodbury! No source says this.
If Charla Woodbury of the Woodbury family association is correct we would have:
William Tenney c1602 - 1685 marries
1st Wife (unknown) of William Tenney
1605 ·Äì 1642
daughter with first wife:
Elizabeth Tenney 1632 ·Äì 1726
2nd wife of William Tenney is
Katherine Marston 1622 ·Äì 1700
daughter of second wife:
Elizabeth Tenney 1643 ·Äì 1689
Elizabeth Tenney 1632 ·Äì 1726 married John Woodbury III 1626 ·Äì 1672 son of *John* Elizabeth Tenney 1643 ·Äì 1689 marries John Woodbury 1641 ·Äì 1716 son of Humphrey Woodbury
Note there is also a John Woodbury in GENI listed as the son of William. Where did he come from? Should be be the son of John or Humphrey?
Here is the complete discussion.

I know that you won't believe this, but I believe that there were two Elizabeth Tenneys who were both daughters of William Tenney. They both married a John Woodbury.
Here is the source information that I have:
ELIZABETH TENNEY born 9 Apr 1642 in Rowley, Essex, Massachusetts to William and Katherin was married about 1669 to JOHN WOODBURY the son of Humphery. She died 16 Apr 1689 in Beverly, Essex, Massachusetts. He died 22 Jan 1715/1716.He married Ales Blish 2 Jul 1690 as a second wife. CHILDREN: Elizabeth, Mary, Ruth, Sarah, Samuel, Peter, Susannah, Rebecca
ELIZABETH TENNEY born about 1632 was married about 1653 to JOHN WOODBURY the son of John and Agnes Napper. He died on board the HMS CROWN in 1672.She remarried Capt. John Dodge about 1675 and died after him 6 Jan 1725/1726 in Beverly, Essex, Massachusetts. CHILDREN:Elizabeth, John, Abigail, Ebenezer, Hannah, Mary

[CHARLA NOTE - daughter DORCAS not this family - Vital records of Rowley, Essex, Massachusetts, page 236, WOODENG (Wooden), Dorcas, d. John, Feb. 10, 1671.].
This is a quick outline, but you can see the problem. Records can be difficult to find this early. The second, older Elizabeth is either a TENNEY or UNKNOWN surname. It was not unknown to name two children the same name and they both survive to have children of their own especially if there was a first wife of William Tenney which his age would suggest. The following does not show that information so it is not clear whether or not she fits into the family.
BROTHERS:It was mentioned several times in New England records. Here is one source: "John Woodbury" Robert Charles Anderson, The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England 1620-1633, Great Migration Study Project, New England Historic Genealogical Society Boston 2000 (Ancestry.com CD).
The problem is that in those days brothers could mean "cousins".I haven't found the family in England quite yet.William lived and had children in South Petherton, Somerset, England and Misterton, Somerset, England. But there are no other Woodburys in South Petherton, but a marriage of Joan or Joanne to John Elliott in 1613 which means he came from elsewhere.
I hope others jump in.These are difficult questions.

Her daughter Rebecca Woodbury (1689 - ) Who is she?
Rebecca Woodbury (1689 - ) is *not* the daughter of Peter Woodbury 1640 and Sarah Dodge 1644 who marries John Cleaves and Joseph Corning.
Her Woodbury Lineage is:
