Adalbert III, Count of Namur, b abt 1035, Namur, France, d 1102. He md Ida Billung of Saxony abt 1060, daughter of Bernard II, Duke of Saxony, and Elica von Schweinfurt. Children of Adalbert III and Ida Billung of Saxony were: Godfrey of Namur, Count of Namur, b 1064. Adelaide of Namur b 1068, d 1124. She md Otto II of Chiny, Count of Chiny, abt 1080, son of Arnold II of Chiny, Count of Chiny, and Adela de Roucy.

From 1071 to 1072, he helped¬â€ Richilde, Countess of Hainaut and Flanders¬â€ fight against¬â€ Robert the Frisian, but the Countess was beaten and lost Flanders.
In 1076, supported by¬â€ Matilda of Tuscany, he claimed the¬â€ Duchy of Bouillon, claiming to have rights by his mother, and fought against¬â€ Godfrey of Bouillon¬â€ to assert his claims. During a battle near¬â€ Dalhem, he killed¬â€ Hermann II, Count Palatine of Lotharingia¬â€ (20 September 1085), making him fall out of favor with the German emperor. Finally, with the Truce of God in 1086, the¬â€ Bishop of Li√®ge¬â€ succeeded in making peace between the warring parties in favor of Godfrey.
In 1099,¬â€ Otbert, Bishop of Liege¬â€ gave him the county of¬â€ Brunengeruz.

In 1065 he married Ida (d. 1102),[1]¬â€ widow of¬â€ Frederick of Luxembourg, Duke of Lower Lorraine, and daughter of¬â€ Bernard II, Duke of Saxony. They had 5 children
