Born as an Evangalical, converted to the Catholic faith when he married his Catholic wife, Franziska Konieczny. The Konieczny family and later Heinrich's children lost all contact with Heinrich's family. At least, my great-grandmother never saw them and Heinrich and Franziska never spoke about them. I only discoved he was Evangalical because a similar situation happened with his son Jozef, who converted to Evangalicalism. I figured that maybe Heinrich also used to be Evangalical, which turned out to be correct.
Oorzaak: Spanish flue
Exact burial date unknown. He was laid to rest with fellow German POW's. In 1928 they reburied them at the monument Duitse Dame (German Lady). Their families were invited during the reveal of this monument. Heinrich's wife, Franziska, took a picture of the monument after the official reveal was over.
Er hat eine Beziehung mit Franziska Konieczny.

The only information I had was circumstantial (name of his children and wife) and two pictures; a portrait picture and that of the war memorial burial site. And that he died during WWI but when and where was unclear.
de for soldiers who were POW in England. I always he assumed he died in either France/England or Germany. So I was very much surprised that he was buried in my home country the Netherlands. Using newspaper articles from both the Netherlands and Germany, which lead me to the Red Cross archive in France, I managed to stitch his story together bit by bit. Each new discovery led me to another one. Going off on how the contact his Polish in-law relatives had with his son after he switched from Catholic to Evangalical, and how his future grandson-in-law was only allowed to marry his granddaughter if he converted to Catholicism, I was able to trace his birth record in the archives of the Evangalical Church of Schwelm (in the immigration records of his daughter he is listed as a Catholic, so I assumed he was born as one). In order to marry his wife, he had to convert to Catholicism, which caused a break in his own family (his daughter and granddaughter had zero contact with the Wilms family, hence why his parentage was unknown). All of this took about 4 years of ond and off research, for which I am admittetly proud but most of all very glad, that he is no longer just a name and a picture, but an entire story.
