Henry was born in 1758 in Virginia. He was recommended on 4 August 1779 to become a lieutenant in Virginia forces by the county court of Frederick county, Virginia. (McAllister, Virginia Militia). He was the Chief legatee in his uncle Peter Catlett's will 1785, and thus inherited -White Post- where he lived and died. He married Miriam Calmes in 1782. Henry Catlett died in 1826 at his farm, White Post, Frederick county in Virginia. He inherited the farm from his uncle, Peter Catlett. Peter and his wife Ann had no children.. Peter's will, after giving legacies to sons of his brothers, James and Robert Catlett, leaves his larger part of his estate, including the farm---White Post- to his nephew, Henry Catlett, son of his brother Robert Catlett. Both Henry and his wife Miriam are buried at White Post.
