Bio: Born about 1592 (on 12 Apr 1632, "Anthony Eames of Fordington, Dorset, yeoman, where he had lived from infancy, born there, aged 40 or thereabouts," deposed in a Fordington tithe case, apparently son of Thomas & Millicent (____) Eames. A yeoman from Fordington, dorset, who came to Massachusetts Bay in 1634 on the Recovery." First settled in Charlestown MA; moved to Hingham in 1636 & Marshfield in 1652. Died after 28 Jun 1670.

Departed Weymouth, England aboard the ship "Recovery of London" on 31 mar 1633/4, Gabriel Cornish was master. Resided Fordington, St George, Dorset, England to 1631. Freeman at Charlestown MA ,10 Feb 1634; Freeman at Hingham MA ,9 Mar 1636/7; Freeman at Marshfield MA, 1653. Church warden at Fordington 1622, 1627, 1631. deputy to general court 1637, 1638, 1643, 1653, 1658, 1661 at Marshfield MA.
m abt 1615 to Margery.
Capt in militia 1644-1645. His promotion from Lt to Capt created a fierce controversy that long convulsed the colony. He removed to Marshfield and was representative in Plymouth Colony most of the time between 1653-1661. per Savage.
Per Great Migration Begins "Anthony Eames and Mark Eames the son of said Anthony both of them of Hingham" bought 100 acres lying on the North River, with a dwelling 10 dec 1650.
