George Richardson, an older brother of Solomon, was a native of Kentucky and was born about 1811 near Burksville, Cumberland county. He was married to Martha Williamson about the year 1839.

In 1862 George Richardson sold his farm and moved his family to Portland and went to Eastern Oregon.
Several years later he drifted over on the Willamette near Butteville.
It was there that he made the acquaintance of Charity Olds, a school teacher from Yamhill county. They were married in 1880.
