Where is this information from?
This information is from Charles Cardon Rich Family Tree, created by CharlesCardonRich.
Daughter of Charles James O'Neal and Jane Shaw
Married Joseph Rich, 23 June 1808, in Boone, Kentucky. They had 5 known children; Apostle Charles Coulson Rich, Artimesia, Jane Ann, Minerva and Nancy Rich.
The original interment of Nancy O'Neil Rich was made at "Block 49", or Utah's First Pioneer Burial Ground, one block east of what would later be called the Old Fort. All remains at that site were re-interred at Old Deseret Village Pioneer Cemetery, in 1986.
This is a cenotaph memorial. A "memorial monument" stands in her memory, at the SALT LAKE CITY CEMETERY, although SHE IS NOT BURIED THERE.
Excerpts from her son, Charles Coulson Rich's journal:
Friday, Oct 1. Traveled 9 miles, passed over a mountain, bad road, camped on the edge of the valley. Mother [Nancy O'Neal Rich] very sick; the company have got together.
Saturday, Oct. 2. We traveled 6 miles and reached the Stockade and camped.
Monday, Oct. 4. The Council met.
Tuesday, Oct. 5. The Council met, and at 5 o'clock p.m.
Mother died after a hard time crossing the mountains. She died in full faith and confidence in the glorious resurrection.
Wednesday, Oct. 6. Late in the evening Mother was buried beside the grave of Jedediah M. Grant's wife.
Two years later, Nancy's infant granddaughter, Eliza Ann Rich, was laid by her grandmother's side. It is recorded that another daughter of her son, Charles Coulson Rich, was buried nearby, three months after the first granddaughter died. This second granddaughter was named Laura Esphena.
Almost twenty years later, Nancy's husband, Joseph Rich, was buried at Paris, Bear Lake, Idaho.
