DEATH CALLS PIONEER RESIDENT
Mrs. August Butterbrodt, Aged 92 Years, Passes Away On Her Birthday at Home of Daughter
Mrs. August Butterbrodt, a pioneer resident of Dodge county, aged 92 years, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. E. Schoen, 211 West Maple Ave, this city, at 10:05 o'clock, Sunday morning, Dec. 2nd. This date was the 92nd birthday anniversary of the deceased. Mrs. Butterbrodt had been in declining health, caused by her advanced age, for some time.
Wilhelmine Henriette Kuehn was born in Germany, Dec. 2, 1836. On January 8, 1857, she was united in marriage with August Butterbrodt in Germany and in 1863 they came to America and settled in the Town of Beaver Dam, where Mr. Butterbrodt passed away Feb. 9, 1919. Since 1863 Mrs. Butterbrodt has lived almost continuously in the Town of Beaver Dam with the exception of some time spent with her children in this city.
To this union ten children were born, all of whom survive; Ernest of the Town of Trenton; Charles of this city; Fred of this city; Mrs. Herman Albrecht of the Town of Beaver Dam; Miss Marie, Frank Butterbrodt, Mrs. R. E. Schoen of this city; Herman and Arthur Butterbrodt of the Town of Beaver Dam, Miss Adela Butterbrodt, a daughter of a son, Charles, of Mr. and Mrs. August Butterbrodt, after the death of her mother was taken into the family circle as a mere infant and was reared and cared for as their own child.
Thirty-one grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren, also survive.
